Carson City

Named after the American frontiersman Kit Carson and known for the gold and silver that were discovered in the 1800s, Carson City offers much old west history to explore. It soon became the hub for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad and became less dependent on the mining industry and instead became a thriving commercial center.

Carson City is centrally located within the beautiful Carson Valley and is situated at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The city’s location makes it easy for both residents and tourists to enjoy a day trip to visit Reno, Lake Tahoe, historic Virginia City, and several surrounding towns in the area. You can live, work, and play in the Nevada State capital—a city with that small-town charm many look for.
